Energy Saving

Save Electricity – How and Why

The electricity consumption in the residential sector accounts for over 70% of domestic consumption. It has the maximum peaks during the daily hours while during the night this consumption is minimal. This discontinuity in consumption involves great efforts and as much wastes from producers of electricity, which in turn are among the main causes of the increase in electricity prices for consumers.

For this reason, several energy companies have started to advertise the formula of the two-part tariff, which provides a lower cost of electricity for the night and on weekends.

Why save electricity?

Today, about 90% of electricity production comes from non-renewable and highly polluting. This involves the depletion of natural resources and the emission of harmful gases in the air for health. Italy is mainly an importer of raw materials for the production of electricity and often directly imports electricity produced in neighboring states such as France.

The costs of this increase and, consequently, the final price for customers. In light of all this, we can say that the electricity savings have benefits for the environment, society and the wallet of the consumers.

How to save electricity?

Save electricity in the residential sector can, with little touches and attention :

  • Use energy-saving appliances. The ability of electrical energy savings in the case of electrical energy coincides with their class. The classes range from G to A ++, where G is the class with the worst performance and A ++ with better performance. The energy-saving appliances to be considered as such must belong to the minimum energy class A.
  • Use energy-saving light bulbs that have high performance and low power consumption.
  • Use energy-saving light bulbs that have high performance and low power consumption.
  • Do not leave lights or appliances on, if not necessary.
  • Avoid using electrical appliances for heating and domestic hot water.
  • If possible, integrate the electric system with solar panels.
